PBL new season will be exciting !!!!

Okay, the upcoming PBL wars will be full of excitement!!!

Why I said that ? Because Ateneo finally agreed to lend its players to the Hapee PBL Team.

Also, Magnolia has adopted the UST Tigers.

Now this means, that they want Jervy Cruz to play for them, which I think Hapee is not willing to give.

You see, now Hapee is the most formidable team with the inclusion of the Ateneo players. Rabeh and Jervy playing together. These two guys will be unstoppable inside the paint.

Now Aldrech Ramos and Reil Cervantes must beefed up their bodies if they wanna slip past this Hapee squad.

Magnolia will also be a tough team with the adoption of the UST players. Their days maybe over for the UST, but some of the veteran players of the Tigers have the experience and the spunk for PBL kind of basketball.

The question now is ? Are the FEU Tamaraws ready for the brand of basketball in the coming PBL wars?

I think so, they should tap Mac Baracael, he may not be 100%, but the leadership he brings to this team is very much needed.

Can't wait for the opening.

Too Bad Ateneo pulled out

Many basketball fanatics were excited over the news that Ateneo have just tied up with Hapee Toothpaste in the Philippine Basketball League.

Hapee would get the core of the Ateneo Blue Eagles and will team up with guys just like Jervy Cruz of the UST Tigers.

This would be exciting to watch with Al Hussaini teaming up with Jervy Cruz. They would have been two intimidating force inside the paint. Another great twin tower combination, but sad to say that is I think will happen in a long,long time.

It would have been great to the PBL, because somehow the rivalry between Harbour Centre and Hapee Toothpaste will continue.

Harbour Centre being powered by the core of the FEU Tamaraws and Rico Maierhofer against the Hapee-Ateneo and Jervy Cruz, that would have been a slam bang affair.

Maybe next season,when Ateneo is ready to play, let's just keep our fingers crossed.

The Eagles captured 71st UAAP Basketball Crown

Congratulations to the Ateneo De Manila University for winning the 71st UAAP Basketball Championship.

They just sweep the Green Archers in the UAAP Finals.

After six long years of waiting and a 2006 disappointing Finals Appearance, it is high time for the Blue Eagles to celebrate after crushing their arch rival Green Archers, 62-51 in Game 2 of the Finals.

After scoring only two points in Game 1, Chris Tiu scored 16 points to lead the Blue Eagles in his final year.

On the other hand, season MVP Rabeh Al Hussaini after scoring 31 points in Game 1,was limited to only seven points due to foul trouble.

Meanwhile, Nonoy Baclao was named Finals MVP primarily due to his defensive skills he had shown in the Finals.

La Salle was held to only four points in the fourth quarter.

And it looks like Coach Franz Pumaren was sour graping blaming the lost on the officiating. Maybe he have forgotten the reason why he got to the Finals was due to bad officiating that befalls the Tamaraws in their knockout game, gaining the twice to beat incentive.

Let the celebration begins for the Blue Eagles.

To all the Green Archers out there, remember that Basketball is a game, you win some, you lose some.

I'm putting my money on the Blue Eagles

With only minutes away before the championship, I am betting that the Blue Eagles will win the championship against the Green Archers.

Chris Tiu is in his final year and Rabeh Al Husaini is playing his best year and could probably the MVP this season. The Eagles are hard to beat and I think that the Archers will have a hard time defending their crown.

Rabeh Al Husaini has no legit defender against him, so I'm pretty sure he'll have a walk in the park against Ferdinand and Maierhofer.

If you triple or double team, there is one shooter who will be open, and that will be the problem of the Green Archers.

They don't have the man to contaminate Al Husaini.

This Ateneo team is just damn too deep just like the champion team of 2002.

Expect the Eagels to end it in Game 2.

I was still in shock, up to this day I couldn't believe that the FEU Tamaraws lost to the De La Salle Green Archers in the Final Four last Sunday.

FEU Tamaraws were leading most of the way up until the last two minutes, when the Tamaraws self destruct in the dying seconds.

The Green Archers escaped with a 67-62 win.

What happened ?

The Green Archers were in joyous and ecstatic mood,leaving the FEU side in awe and almost in tears.

James Mangahas was just like a snake,finding his way to the ring. I can't blame the players, but the way the game was officiated.

It was obvious that the Referees are in favor of the Green Archers, Why ?

When JR Cawaling was driving to the hoop,he was obviously fouled because he fell on the floor,the referees just let it slip away.

Another thing, was during the knockout game. Some stupid foul was called on the Tamaraws, Cawaling picking up his fourth foul early in the ball game. And the worst, when the Tamaraws are crawling their way back to the game, an unsportsmanlike foul was called on Mac Baracael. It should have been just a foul, because it was not intentional that he bump to a La Salle player.

Maybe if the officiating had not been bad, the Tamaraws could have prevailed !!!

I guess big amount of money is involved here, since they want a DLSU and Ateneo in the Finals, and they just killed the Tamaraws with their poor officiating.

Maybe next year, We'll get it.

Good thing the Baby Tamaraws stopped the Junior Archers.
